A little getaway

On Thursday we headed down to Seattle after Shane's bball practice and met up with my parents and Kyle and Michelle. My Dad had a hip replacement surgery right before Thanksgiving so I think he was having a little cabin fever so he treated us to a night. We went to dinner, went to Seattle center, and then to Key Arena for the WSU / Pepperdine basketball game. The next morning we made sure to take Kendall swimming, she loves it! Kendall and Uncle Kyle in their cougar gear. I wonder where she got that sweatshirt?

Enjoying every minute of it

Christmas break began at 2:45 on Friday December 16th for us and I haven't even thought about school for an entire week. This year with my job changing and teaching at the middle school, I have never been so ready for a break from work. I love my job and thankful I have a full time job, but I loved my job at the high school much more...middle school kids have a ton of ENERGY and you get 55 of them together for PE they are wound up for the hour and half I have them for. Saturday December 17th we went with the Price Family to see Santa at the Farmer's co-op. All 3 Price boys were very brave sitting on Santa's lap and even after Kendall watched them she still wasn't about to get very close to him.
We went swimming at the Y last Sunday.
Other than that a lot of lounging around the house or going to some bball games. That has been our break so far.
Kendall told Shane to sit down next to her the other day then said to me "picture".

Tree Time

Last weekend we went and picked out our Christmas tree at Stoney Ridge farm. They also have a live animal nativity scene and Kendall had to go see the camel 3 different times. She was interested in what Daddy was doing laying on the ground cutting down the tree.
She took off to check out the pumpkins.
Playing with Bougy the neighbor dog while we set up the tree. This is why we don't need our own dog, we have a great neighbor dog.
I will get a picture of the finished product (our tree). Kendall likes looking at all the decorations but does a good job keeping her hands off. I haven't tried putting any gifts under because it is 1 more thing she would be tempted to get into. We will wait still Santa comes on Christmas.

Who wouldn't miss this?

We are a month into basketball season so a little less time with Daddy but we make sure to make the most of it when he is home. The weather isn't as much fun to be outside in either so we find new things to do inside, her newest is playing with Play-dough. Her favorite spot in the house lately. As you see 2 different days posing on the steps to the bonus room.

Lynden Lighted Parade

Last weekend at the last minute we remembered the annual Lynden Lighted Parade and figured Kendall would love it. Of course she did, but was so mesmerized that she didn't show any emotion. When we asked her 1/2 way through the parade if she wanted to go home she said NO! I remember going to this parade almost every year when we moved to Lynden and I think it is something we will continue to do with our kids. I of course forgot my camera, so thanks Jules for the pics.

A little girl

We no longer have a baby but Kendall is now a little girl and likes girly things. Braclets, necklaces (she calls them necks), and shoes (plastic high heels at daycare). She repeats anything and everything even when Mom and Dad say the 4 letter S word. She has done it 2 times in the past week, once when Shane said and and once when I said it. I had to leave the room I was laughing so hard.

20 Months

Only 4 more months until the big 2. It is amazing how many words she knows and says and if she doesn't know them she will repeat almost anything you tell her to say. She is starting to put more than 1 word together. Such as, she likes to hide things and say, "Where go?" then she will get it and say "There it is!" or another one is "Mommy/Daddy hold" She sure isn't a baby anymore she is turning into a little girl.
She is suppose to be a Bee for Halloween. I found a really cute costume but she doesn't want to have anything to do with it, so we may not be dressing up again this year. She loves to look at it but when you try to put it on her she throws a fit. We have 1 more week!

1st full ponytail.

For the past couple months she likes to go and get my bathrobe from the bathroom and try to wear it or snuggle with it because I think she likes the feeling of the material. I found one with the same material and she loves wearing it after her baths.
