Baby's Room

Shane and I spent the day after Christmas putting the baby girl's room together...or at least her 1st room (until we get moved into our house). Actually it wasn't just us that set up the crib. It is a used crib from the neighbor and we didn't have the instructions so we struck out setting it up after about 2 hours. Roger and Erin (Shane's sister and brother in-law) came down in the afternoon and finished. Roger looked at the crib for about 10 minutes and a suggestion from Erin and the crib was set up. I don't think Shane and I would have ever figured it out. Thanks Erin and Roger!

We are using the crib and changing table that is going to stay at my parents house. We have a brand new crib, changing table, and dresser that was bought by Grandpa and Grandma Stacy that will get set up in our new house. We didn't get bedding to match the yellow walls in the room but the bedding we got actually looks ok with the yellow. It makes it so much more real and exciting now that we have her room all set up. The countdown has begun...only 8 more weeks (at the most).

December pictures of house...

It has been kind of slow going the last couple weeks because of the wind, rain, snow, and freezing temperatures.

Update from Courtney

Maybe if your lucky Shane will post something while we have some time off from work because people seem to enjoy what he has to say about what is happening with us. We are going to be putting the interim baby room together at my parents house this weekend since they are leaving for Mexico for 12 days we have the house to ourselves (along with their 4 animals, including the chihuahua Isabella that has to sleep with us when they are gone, under the covers and all!).
Basketball season has been going for Shane for about a month now. They have had 4 games and are 3-1, with the loss being to Bellevue Chritian in a 1 point game that came down to the end. Hopefully they will get to meet up again at districts! I have another week left of middle school basketball when we start school again on the 4th. We were both really ready for our Christmas break and the kids at school might have been even more!

31 weeks pregnant...I am only posting this for those of you that beg for these pics...Carolyn!

The dog we get to take care of every time my parents leave town in trade for all the free child care over the next years...I think it is pretty fair though Shane may think differently!

This morning we had our 1st Christmas celebration with my family since my parents are leaving tomorrow for their trip. Tomorrow Shane and I will spend the morning just the 2 and 1/2 of us and then head up north to be with his family for the rest of the day. I think Shane enjoyed the presents for the baby this morning from my parents then what we got from them. She already has apparel from 1/2 of the Pac 10 schools thanks to my parents.

More house pictures

The framing is still taking place. We had really high winds all weeks so there wasn't too much that got done on the house this week. Hopefully the weather gets a little better this week so we can get the roof on and windows in to close the house up before more bad weather comes.

Belly Pictures

Here are a couple pictures of my GROWING belly. I don't think it looks as big as it really does in these pictures. Just ask Julie, I think she would agree. Maybe it was the angle that Shane took it at because he couldn't get off the couch and was disgusted that he had to take the pictures :) Maybe I will have my Mom take the next ones.

ShaneBaby's Adventures: Volume I

I figured I would spice up this blog a little so as to get a little more male viewership. As all good father's to be, I have been training myself to get away from 32 years of selfishness and to focus on my wife and unborn child. I figured this is the least I can do to be supportive of Courtney and let her know that I am going to take this fatherhood thing seriously.

Exhibit A: My sister and I had tickets on the floor for U2 in Vancouver on Wednesday night and were about 75 feet away from the stage.

I found this video on YouTube. It was taken at the concert about 20-25 feet in front of me and my sister. It also happened to be my favorite part. Bono is just finishing up "Amazing Grace" while the band starts its intro into "Where the Streets Have No Name". It is worth viewing if you are a U2 fan. I have no idea how to add a link to this godforsaken blog so you will have to cut and paste.

A great picture of the stage set-up. They put on a great show. I wish I would have brought my own camera so that I didn't have to pawn things off of the internet and sell them as my own.

For instance, I could tell you that the Pope waived at me while I was in Vancouver too, find a picture of the Pope waiving on the internet, and pawn it off in this blog as my own.

FatherHood Lesson: After all was said and done with the U2 concert, I did not get home until 2 in the morning. However, I was still up and ready for work the next day. As a result, I have shown my wife I have what it takes to go through a sleepless night and still do my duties the following day.

Exhibit B: Got in at 3 in the morning last night after 5 hours of BlackJack. My friends and I were up $900 and split the winnings three ways. Did you know that you can double down as many times as you want in Spanish 21?

Hand of The Night: $10 bet. Dealer showing a 6. Babes with A-3. Double down and get a 2. Now at a soft 15. Double down again ($20) and get a A. Now at a soft 16. Double down again ($40) and get a 4 for 20. Dealer bust. Doubled down 3 times to win $80 off of a $10 bet. I am in love with the multiple double down (Did you know about this guys?).

FatherHood Lesson: "It is not my money, it is our money". Winnings from last night will go towards diapers, baby bedding and another pair of Courtney's hot-ass maternity jeans.

Stay tuned for the next installment of.....ShaneBaby's Adventures
