Swimming

Trying to find things to do this time of year since the weather just never seems nice enough on the weekends to get outside. Kendall loves swimming so we took her last Sunday (or should I say Shane took her), I watched from the side. We had a big temper tantrum when it was time to leave. I think we better take her again this weekend since the weather report is calling for more rain. I have a feeling she is going to live in the pool when we go to Arizona for spring break.

Kendall's 2nd Birthday

We celebrated Kendall's 2nd birthday at our house last Saturday with my family, Shane's parents, and Julie and the boys. She was pretty excited to have all these people here for her and she understood opening presents this time and like that part. I ordered cake pops from a girl in Lynden because I don't like to bake. She didn't understand that she had to wait to have them.
Opening her cabbage patch from the Price's. Once she turned the box over and saw what is was she said "OH, a baby!"
Crew is sitting on her new balance bike (in the picture above) she got from Grandpa and Grandma.
She also loved all her special toys and book she got from Grammy and Papa.
Finally she could have some cake pops, I think she had 2 or 3 of them.

A lot of catching up

Life has been busy the past month and when I have down time I can't seem to get motivated to do ANYTHING! I finally feel like I am catching my breath. I started middle school volleyball the end of January and our short season is almost over, only 2 weeks left! I am go glad it always goes by so fast because if it was any longer of a season, I am not sure I would coach and teach full time. It can be a lot! Shane's basketball season ended the middle of February with a triple overtime loss to end the season. It was a bummer! Kendall and I both had birthdays the past week. Kendall turned 2 on the 23rd of February and I turned the big 3-0 on the 26th, in case you missed the ticker Shane put on the side of our blog. Now I have to figure out how to get it off. I got a new camera from my parents, Shane's parents, and Shane so I will finally have some quality pictures to post once I learn how to use it better. More of Kendall's birthday pictures to come but for now here are some pictures of things that are keeping us busy. We had a 4 day weekend if February and it was a nice break from school and volleyball. The Pemberton's came to visit but I didn't get my new camera until the night before they left that this the only picture I got of anyone from the Pemberton family.
This is Shane and Dave before we left to go out for my surprise birthday dinner and Carolyn pulled my new camera out of her purse to take a picture of the boys then handed it to me and said it was my birthday present. When I was checking out my new camera here were some pictures that were already on it. I take it Shane played around with it a little to try it out.
We are in the process of moving Kendall to the guest room. This is the new quilt my Mom made for her bedspread. We just finished painting today so we should have it all put together by next weekend. We ask her if she wants to sleep in her new bed every night but she says No, so we will keep her in her crib as long as she wants since she sleeps so good.

Another break

The week of January 16th we got hit with a snow storm, wind, and freezing rain which meant 4 days of no school (Monday was already a holiday) and 2 basketball games canceled that now make these weeks hectic in order to make up the games. I can't really say we did anything productive with this extra week and had some cabin fever. We were completely snowed in on Wednesday and couldn't get out of our driveway because of the snow drifts. It was hard getting motivated to get back into the routine of school but I was also thankful to be back. Kendall really needed to go back to daycare too. Now we are out of school June 21st! I am hoping for nice weather in June though we will still be in school because it is so much better to get my PE classes outside that time of year. We took Kendall out on Tuesday before the wind picked up. Shane pulled her in the sled for about 45 seconds before he accidently dumped her. Needless to say we didn't get her back on the sled. Maybe next year she will forget about it. On the sled...
Right after the face plant in the snow.
We did a lot of this during the break too!

The last week of break...

went by fast but I won't complain because I am lucky enough to have a job gives me so much time off during the holidays. We had my family and the Claey's family over for the Alamo bowl on December 29th. Kendall and the Claey's girls. She was so excited to have "kids" over is what she calls them.
Then Tracey came into town and stayed with Julie for a few days, so we got to hang out with the Price boys and Jaymin and Rilyn Kerlee. Playing in our back yard we tried to get a shot of all 6 of them together, it only took a few shots.
Playing with the neighbor dogs and Kona (the Kerlee's dog).
I could finally get Kendall to wear a hat because the other kids were.

Christmas

Finally getting caught up... On Christmas Eve we had Shane's Mom's side of the Family over for a soup dinner. It was nice to be able to host at our house this year. Tia Erin came over early to make her tortilla soup and hang out with us. Kendall got her 1st Barbie from Tia.
She also got some play food from Shane's cousin Heather and got to spend time with her cousin Drew both on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning. She loved Drew and Drew seemed to like hanging out with Kendall too.
Grammy, Kendall, and Drew
Drew helping Tia put jammies on Kendall.
Papa, Kendall and Drew
Then Christmas morning was just us for a little while then Shane's Mom, Dad, Tia (who stayed with us) and Shane's brother Tristan and Drew came back over for Christmas breakfast. Kendall opening the last morning of the advent calendar to get her gummy vitamin and an M&M.
Nice bed head!
A new monkey bath towel.
The Stacy's (I am only by marriage so didn't count for this picture).
Then for the rest of Christmas we headed down to my parent's though this is the only picture I have for now. Kendall got a sleeping bag from Kyle and Michelle and loves it. I will have to get some pictures of her laying in it from my Mom.
